Conservator of Estate

Definition

A Conservator of Estate is an example of a limited Conservator responsible for the conservatee’s financial affairs.

Example responsibilities include

  • managing the conservatee’s income, assets, and property;
  • paying bills and taxes;
  • making investment decisions; and
  • providing detailed accounts to the court when needed.

Terminology involving conservatorship and guardianship vary by jurisdiction. As a result, a Conservator of Estate may be called a Conservator or Guardian of the Estate in your area.
